ABOUT US
Contemporary Arabian jewellery inspired by the art and heritage of Arabia, designed by Nadia Dajani.
Our ethos is to give back to the community through our art, which is handmade by local artisans in Amman who create the art jewels by hand.
Nadia Dajani Jewellery: original contemporary designs where every piece relays a story inspired by the culture and heritage of Jordan.
From the Iron Age to the Roman and Byzantine, Nabatean, the Islamic and the Bedouin; including amulets and talismans and selected stories from folklore all come together to create the storyline behind the brand.
Selected pieces from museum artefacts, archaeological findings and research are eclectically chosen to create the various collections that carry that name.
The objective is to enjoy ‘fashion’ at the same time as create awareness about Jordanian as well as Arab culture, heritage and history.
Each piece of jewellery is accompanied by a printed text with the ‘story’ behind the inspiration, creating an experience enjoyed by both Jordanians and non-Jordanians alike.
The jewels are made from silver and gemstones as well as copper and glass beads hand made by local artisans in the Amman area.
The project is a testament to ‘Art Giving Back to Society’, as the work is hand made by local artisans trained by Nadia and who in turn train newcomers: no artisan is turned away. We seek to increase the base of our artisans in the manufacture of our work as we see our business grow.
The women in our cooperative are the breadwinners in their nuclear families, who are the first women in their families to do gainful work for a living. They had to learn the work ethic, and pass this on to the next generation, many of whom started working with us. In this process, the social structure has been challenged and we had to deal with all the consequences that ensued. However, the positive effects have been very tangible with the standard of living of the families vastly improved and the children have been off the streets, educated at schools and integrating into society.
We exhibit our work predominantly in Jordan through our flagship store in Amman as well as on our own online platform.
We have been exhibiting on board a large number of luxury cruise lines to include Crystal, Seabourn, Silversea, Viking, Cunard, Oceania as the ‘Visiting Jeweller’, with lectures accompanying the exhibit to create awareness about the inspiration: from Islamic art and architecture, the culture of the people of Arabia and the social responsibility aspect of the project and its challenges.
This experience over the past twelve years saw our product reach out to a vast audience from many countries across the globe, and has put our name out as a Jordanian brand in our field competing with similar international brands.
Received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2016 and 2018.
