Kermaz was named after Kermes, a special type of rich red dye extracted from the insect of the same name. Kermes is commonly used to dye silk threads to be used in embroidery work.

Our goals is Preserving the Palestinian and Jordanian heritage by conserving and raising awareness to the traditional handmade embroidery work and empowering embroiderers and artists from the local region with a focus on those who reside in the Palestinian refugee camps.
